How to care for pants to make them last for years?
Practical tips to help you care for trousers made of viscose, tencel, cupro and other fabrics such as linen and cotton.
How to care for our trousers so that they last for years?
When buying high-quality trousers, such as women's trousers from the JUSI collection, we want them to maintain their appearance and functionality for as long as possible. Proper care of each garment plays a key role in extending its life. Below we present practical tips that will help you care for trousers made of viscose, tencel, cupro and other fabrics, such as linen or cotton.
Washing - gentleness is the basis
Each material requires appropriate treatment during washing. Trousers made of viscose, tencel and cupro are best washed at low temperatures (30-40°C) on a delicate cycle, using mild detergents designed for delicate fabrics. Avoid spinning at high speeds so as not to damage the structure of the fibres. Linen, on the other hand, requires a cool wash - preferably at 30°C. To minimise creasing, wash linen trousers with similar fabrics, which will prevent excessive friction. Cotton and cotton blends should be washed at a temperature appropriate to the colour – 30°C for dark colours and 40°C for light colours. You can use a medium spin cycle, but avoid tumble drying. Before washing, check the product label just in case – you will find detailed information from the manufacturer there.
Drying – natural and safe
Most of our JUSI women's trousers are best dried flat or on a hanger to avoid stretching, i.e. deformation. Avoid using a tumble dryer, as this can negatively affect the structure of the fabric. Do not expose clothes to direct sunlight, especially viscose and tencel, which are susceptible to fading under the influence of intense light. After removing the trousers from the washing machine, shake them out so that the material is less creased, which will significantly facilitate later ironing.
Ironing – be careful
Iron viscose and tencel trousers at a low temperature (up to 110°C) on the left side, preferably through a cotton cloth. Cupro requires similarly gentle ironing, also on the left side, on the “delicate fabrics” setting. Linen can be ironed at higher temperatures (up to 200°C), but for best results, slightly dampen the fabric before ironing. Iron cotton trousers with an iron set to a medium temperature. For dark fabrics, iron on the left side to avoid shiny fabrics. For lightweight fabrics, use the steam option, which effectively removes creases without the risk of damaging the material.
Storage – take care of the shape
Viscose, tencel and cupro trousers are best stored on hangers to prevent creasing. Linen and cotton can be folded on shelves, but it is worth avoiding tight stacking, which can lead to permanent creasing. If you store trousers seasonally, choose cotton ones instead of plastic covers, which allow for proper air circulation.
Additional care tips
Instead of washing them frequently, it is worth refreshing your trousers from time to time by airing them or using special fabric refresher sprays. In case of stains, act quickly – remove them with a damp cloth and a mild detergent, avoiding harsh rubbing, which can damage the fibers. Regularly check the pockets before washing to avoid accidental damage, e.g. by coins or keys.
Caring for trousers made of high-quality materials such as viscose, tencel or cupro requires attention, but it is not difficult. Proper washing, drying, ironing and storage will allow you to enjoy your favorite models for years. Our women's trousers by JUSI, made of any fabric, are made with durability in mind, and with careful care they will retain their beauty for a long time.
